NCR- Norfolk is researching a potential vaccine that would be used to prevent the life threatening effects of being exposed to Ricin. Ricin is a toxin that is found in the beans of the castor plant. It has been known for many years that this substance can cause devastating effects to those who have been exposed to it. There is international concern that this toxin could be used as a bioterrorism agent. We are looking for healthy men and women who are between the ages of 18- 31 who are interested in participating in this program. Of course, this experimental vaccine will not put you at risk for developing the harmful effects from Ricin. |
